landscapefeature

In the Spring of 2008, Sloan Upstate decided that the I-85 road frontage signage sat too low for commuters to see, and the time had come to do something about it.

With planning beginning in the Fall of 2007, a landscape plan was drawn in-house and sent to Colas for approval. A few thousand cubic yards of topsoil hauled in, signs removed & raised to the top of the mound, retaining wall about the perimeter, sodding, mulching, and complete landscaping & irrigation about the mound, and then a faux roadway etched in with a completely restored (and retired) CAT paving machine placed on top!

All work was done in-house by volunteering employees and grading crews, and it is certainly a feature we are proud of. If you find yourself in our area, please drop by and take a look at it up close. We love to have you visit us!
